Family Update!!
Good Morning! I figured today would be a great day to give y’all a family update, especially since I haven’t done that in a while.
Christopher turned 9 yesterday. I almost can’t believe it, but my eldest ‘little’ boy isn’t so little anymore. He’s turning into a pretty awesome young man, too! He’s incredibly intelligent, kind, respectful, and artistic. He loves to paint, draw, take photos, build things- anything where his imagination can take over. He also loves to read! The kid devours books faster than I do! He’s also an amazing big brother. He’s so patient with Andrew! I am often amazed that I get to be this kid’s mom!
Joshua is 5. He’s growing up much quicker than I’d like to admit, too. He loves to play with Legos and Play-Doh, creating all sorts of things. He’s still cautious about who he lets into his world, but once you’re in, he loves you fiercely, and with his whole heart. Unlike Christopher, he’s not as interested in school work, or more traditional academic pursuits, but he is learning. We just haven’t found his interests in the world of academia just yet- although he loves anything to do with firefighters, police officers, and EMTs.
Andrew is now 2! And in the middle of the terrible twos at that! He’ll grow out of it, eventually, but in the meantime, he’s decided that sleep isn’t an option- unless he’s sleeping in my bed. Otherwise, he loves to be read to, especially Biscuit books (you know, the ones about Biscuit the dog?). He’s a big fan of Paw Patrol, and chocolate almond milk (he’s allergic to dairy). He spends his days playing, and playing some more, and absolutely loves to be cuddled when he’s done playing.
That’s about it. Everyone is healthy and happy. I really can’t ask for more than that for my children. But, if you have any tips for getting a toddler to sleep in their own bed after waking in the middle of the night, I’d appreciate it if you could drop ‘em in the comments section below!
