New Mexico Event and Wedding Planning's Bridal Showcase

In my business, I love focusing on families and weddings. As a wedding photographer, I recently dove into the world of bridal expos for the first time ever last August (fun fact: I never attended one as a bride-to-be!), and wow, did I learn a ton! Here are some key takeaways:

  1. Expect the Unexpected: Nothing quite prepares you for the energy of a bridal expo, not even reading about it!

  2. Navigating the Expo: As a vendor, don't expect anyone to guide you on where to find things. You'll need to navigate and explore the expo on your own.

  3. Confidence is Key: Don't hesitate to speak up and hold your ground. Established vendors can be intimidating, but remember, everyone starts somewhere.

  4. Networking Matters: Take time to connect with other vendors. They're not just colleagues; they could be future collaborators.

  5. Team Support: Bring along extra hands for support—whether it's for setup, managing the booth, or simply cheering you on.

  6. Know Your Stuff: Being prepared shows professionalism. Avoid constantly looking up information during conversations.

  7. Follow Up Promptly: After the expo, reach out to leads quickly. Timing is everything in converting interest into bookings.

  8. Enjoy the Experience: People are drawn to positivity. Have fun and let your enthusiasm shine!

It was a valuable learning journey, and as I gear up for Super Bride Sunday on February 7th, I'm excited to apply these lessons. I hope to see you there!

Update 7/8/2024:

I'm gearing up for another wedding show, this time with a new company! Since my first expo, I've grown and now have a more realistic view of what to expect. My focus is on scheduling as many One-on-One Client Meetings as possible. While booking a wedding on the spot would be fantastic, my priority is ensuring couples make informed decisions without feeling pressured.

I'm approaching this show with a fresh perspective, so stay tuned for how it unfolds!
