The Tellez Family- Albuquerque, New Mexico
The Tellez Family was warmly referred to me by another client, and it was an absolute joy to meet and work with this wonderful family!
We chose the vibrant setting of Old Town Plaza for their photo shoot, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for capturing relaxed and fun-filled moments. John and Doris expressed some initial concerns about their son, Carlos, who has Down Syndrome, but Carlos surprised us all by having a fantastic time! We even had an impromptu dance party, and I got to witness his awesome moves firsthand!
Navigating through the bustling plaza, we patiently waited for Christmas shoppers to clear, taking in the festive atmosphere ourselves.
The boys were enthusiastic helpers during our shoot, especially when setting up a particular shot that they were eager to see unfold.
It was truly a pleasure getting to know the Tellez family, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to reconnect with them someday.
Update 7/8/2024:
Unfortunately, I've lost touch with the Tellez family over the years, but I sincerely hope they are doing well!
I remember how John and Doris initially worried about Carlos during our photo session. They had previously faced challenges with family photos and were unsure how Carlos would handle the experience. Although it was my first time working directly with someone with Down Syndrome, I assured them that we would work together to make it a positive experience, and indeed we did.
Having a disability should never prevent anyone from having beautiful photos taken, whether it's for themselves or their loved ones. Everyone is welcome in my studio, and I am committed to collaborating on location choices and any necessary accommodations to ensure a wonderful and memorable photo session that results in stunning photos!
