Styled Shootout with Alicia Lucia Photography

Bride and Groom Pose for quite photo

Taking part in the styled shoot sponsored by Alicia Lucia Photography this year was such an incredible experience that taught me a ton!

It was my first time collaborating with professional models, makeup artists, and set designers, and let me tell you, it was a blast. Stepping into the world of high-fashion posing was like diving into a new adventure I never expected.

One of the coolest things I picked up was learning how to direct poses with confidence. Watching our models effortlessly nail those magazine-worthy poses was mind-blowing. I've taken those tips and tricks straight into my regular sessions, making them even more dynamic and fun.

Plus, I got to meet and connect with other local photographers, which was awesome. It's so important to build those connections and learn from each other in this creative field.

Overall, it was a fantastic day of capturing stunning photos for my portfolio and making new friends in the photography community.

Update 7/9/2024:

Looking back on the shoot, I'll admit I had a bit of a learning curve. Originally, I was excited to attend, hoping to get some killer shots for my portfolio and maybe pick up a few tips from Alicia, especially after hearing about her feature in The Knot magazine. But as it turned out, the shoot was more about creating editorial content than a workshop.

Even though the focus wasn't exactly what I expected, I still walked away with some amazing photos and a better understanding of different types of shoots in our industry. It was definitely a learning experience that shaped how I approach future opportunities.
