The Pino Family- Los Lunas River Park Photo Session

Photo of family sitting in the Los Lunas River Park

I had the pleasure of working with the Pino family about two weeks ago. This precious family includes mom Brenda, dad, Jack, and daughter Jackie.

I was so excited to finally shoot their family session! Due to all of the rain that we've had this spring, we had to reschedule a few times. When we finally did get to meet and shoot their session, we actually had to find a different location! We had originally planned to use the Los Lunas River Park, but the park was closed for a private event. Luckily, we were able to move just across the street, and use the bosque on that side.

I'm not as familiar with the North side of the river bosque, as I am with the South side, but I definitely plan on going back a lot more often after this session!

I'm not exactly sure what type of plant this is, but it made for some beautiful photos of little Miss Jackie!

This beautiful fallen tree was nearby, and made for a lovely setting to capture some shots of Brenda and Jack together.

Before I switched sides of the log, I was able to capture some candid shots of this precious family together.

Ms. Jackie is 8 months old, and learning to pull up, and stand, so we leaned her up against the log and I shot over the top of it, to capture her precious smile.

I asked Brenda and Jack to sit alongside Jackie and give her a smooch on booth cheeks; Jackie just giggled at that.

Before we parted ways, we stopped to shoot a few more family photos with this Cottonwood tree. It's one of the largest ones that I've ever seen, and has to be close to 200 years old.

It was a pleasure working with this precious family, and I can't wait to see them again!

Update 5/12/2024:

Unfortunately I am no longer able to use the North side of the Bosque to shoot in, because when the state built the new river bridge, access became restricted. And, that side of the river tends to flood much more than the actual Los Lunas River Park. I still love conducting portrait sessions in the park itself!
