Joseph and Rebecca's Engagement Session- Albuquerque, New Mexico
I met Joseph and Rebecca after Joseph won an auction for a gift certificate that I donated to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home annual fundraiser.
From the start Joseph knew he wanted to use the session for his and Rebecca's engagement photos. The only question was where to take the photos? They both wanted something a little off-the-wall and representative of them.
Joseph is a published author, and Rebecca is a student at UNM. They actually met at a church dance, when Joseph took a chance and asked Rebecca to dance.
They started dating shortly thereafter, and Joseph began planning the sweetest proposal!
The two of them became co-leaders of their church youth group. Joseph knew he had to get them all involved! He picked the date- a time the group had a scheduled outing so that Rebecca wouldn't suspect anything.
The group's trip to see one of the balloon glows at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta proved to be the perfect chance.
As the balloons darkened, and the fireworks started, Joseph dropped to one knee, and popped the question. Surrounded by friends and family (Joseph had gotten them there too), Rebecca said yes.
We were able to utilize a used book store in downtown Albuquerque for the photoshoot. I have to admit, it was a bucket list item of places to shoot for me, and the photos turned out great!
Congrats Joseph and Rebecca!
Update 7/8/2024:
Sadly, I have lost track of Joseph and Rebecca. I wish I could have photographed their wedding! I bet it would have been delightfully bookish!
If anyone is interested having their engagement session take place in a book store, please hit me up! I’d LOVE to photograph another session like this one!
