The Trujillo Family- A Roswell, New Mexico Family Portrait Session

New Mexico Military Institute

I have to say, this session was hands down the most fun I've had so far! Let me break it down for you...

Karin, who's known me since the days of pigtails and lace socks, asked if I could capture their family photos, and I was thrilled to say yes!

For Valentine's Day, Karin's family planned a get-together in Roswell, so Justin and I loaded up the van and headed south. I was amazed at how much Roswell had changed since my last visit. We decided to meet up at the New Mexico Military Institute, which turned out to be a perfect spot for our shoot.

The laughter started long before the family arrived—thanks to some witty text exchanges and playful jokes, including a hilarious debate about a rogue herd of cows! When we finally met up, smiles were everywhere.

We leisurely explored the beautiful campus, capturing different shots and enjoying the lovely weather.

Before we knew it, our session wrapped up, and it was time for Justin and me to head home. Spending time in Roswell with this wonderful family was an absolute joy, and I can't wait to do it all over again!

Update 7/9/2024:

I still hold such fond memories of this session! The New Mexico Military Institute's campus provided a stunning backdrop for our photos, and reconnecting with Karin and her family was incredibly rewarding. This session was also special because it marked my first paid assignment that required travel, which added an extra layer of excitement to the experience. While I had traveled previously for George and Gayla's wedding in Kansas, that was a family event where I wasn't charging for my services and would have been there regardless.
