Valencia High School Football- Los Lunas, NM
One of the things that I absolutely loved about high school band was getting to sit in the stands with my friends and watch every home game the Los Lunas Tigers played. I loved seeing the community come together to support our team, and to spend time with friends and family. It also helped that my parents, brother, and grandmother were also there supporting me! I have to say, though, that there is nothing like watching a small-town high school team play in their home stadium. Even though we lost more often than we won, the town, the team, and the school all had a great Friday night.
This year, after taking a job as the Assistant Librarian at Valencia High School- our second high school in Los Lunas- I brought my camera to all of the home football games that I could make. I also brought along Christopher, Joshua, Serenity- who is a Freshman and on the JROTC Color Guard!- Alexis, and Loralei. The kids had an absolute blast! And, I have to say, I think we have the best stadium at Valencia High School- those sunsets were gorgeous!!
Even though I graduated a Tiger, and will always be a Tiger at heart, these Jaguars have a special place in my heart too! It was amazing to see my Jags play at home and get to cheer them on! And, I have to say, I didn’t really realize just how much I missed this part of my community, until I finally returned! I can’t wait until next season!
