Road Trip with Mom, Grandma, and the Boys
This week I have the pleasure of going on a road trip with my Mom, Grandma, and my boys, Christopher and Joshua, and I'm typing this from the backseat of our car, headed East on Highway 54 to my Aunt Beverly's house in Fulton, Missouri.
The Pino Family- Los Lunas River Park Photo Session
I had the pleasure of working with the Pino family about two weeks ago. This precious family includes mom Brenda, dad, Jack, and daughter Jackie.
My Love/Hate Relationship with Running
First off, please forgive the iPhone selfie. Sometimes, the best camera is the one you have with you, and that was the one I had.
Me and Mommy Mini Sessions- Hay's Honey Farm, Bosque Farms, NM
I was blessed to have so many great clients turn out for my Me & Mommy Mother's Day Mini Photo Sessions, and even more so that it was a beautiful day to be outside!
Michelle and Cory's Engagement Session- Albuquerque, New Mexico
As I sat down to write this blog post, I realized the serendipity of what I'm writing about and the day that I am writing it. You see, today is my sixth Wedding anniversary. I have been married to my best friend for six wonderful years. And, today I get to tell you about the Engagement Session I did for a really great set of friends, who also happen to be best friends.
Welcome to the New Site!
Welcome to the new site! I would like to say a huge 'Thank-You' to Ms. Vanessa Wilde for redesigning my logo and watermark. I absolutely love it!
Why I Volunteer
I took the photo above of a couple of the girls in my Girl Scout troop last May. We were planting some bushes at Peralta Elementary School, where we met last year, as a service project to the school. Every time I see it, it reminds me so much of why I volunteer.
What to Wear to Your Family Portrait Session: Part One
One of the biggest questions, and worries, when you book a family photo session- or any session- is “What do I wear?” Or, some version of it, anyway. I know in my family, it’s always the second question asked when we get ready to take family photos- the first being “When are we doing this?”
I Can't Wait for Spring!
As I sit here trying to think up something genius to write about, all I can think is, 'I can't wait for Spring!' The Winter weather is doing it's usual central New Mexico thing: it's overcast and dreary without any snow. It's just nasty enough that you don't want to be outside.
Behind the Scenes- Los Lunas, New Mexico
After I finish writing this blog post, I have to go do exactly what I'm writing about today: What I do behind the scenes to get ready for a shoot, and what I do when I get home- or 'back to the office'.
Photographer's Child Syndrome
Over the past week, an unusual syndrome has made it's presence in my home and family known: Photographer's Child Syndrome.
The Tools I Use
With the onset of digital photography, a lot of things have changed since the darkroom days of the past. Because of this, I wanted to take some time to tell you all about the basic tools that I use to capture and edit your photos.
Los Lunas High School Senior: Robert
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Robert Howard on his Senior Photos this last weekend. Robert is a Senior at Los Lunas High School, and will graduate this May.
Outdoor Family Photo Session in Bosque Farms, New Mexico- The Kinnikin Family
Erica and C.J.'s family session was actually a prize for a drawing I held on my Facebook Business Page. When my page hit 100 'Likes' I held a contest/drawing for one free session, and Erica won! I'm planning on hosting another drawing when my page hits 200 'Likes' (hint, hint!).
In-Home Family Portrait Session in Bosque Farms, NM: The Smith Family
Janice and Jay Smith invited me into their home for their family photo session just a few weeks before Christmas. This family has three young men, as well as an extensive extended family. While I was blessed to work with their extended family, I'll only be writing about Jay, Janice, and their three boys.
Los Lunas River Park Family Photo Session- The Barka Family
The beautiful Barka family, headed by Nichole and Gilbert, met me in the Los Lunas River Park for a family session a couple of weeks ago.
Bosque Farms Family Photo Session: The Medina Family
I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer and Nick Medina and their two boys a few weeks ago. We met at Jennifer's parent's house, using their front yard for this photo session. This session started off a little slow, with the boys being a little shy, but we soon had a blast!
The Year in Review
When I first started my business six months ago (Wow! How did it go by so fast?!), one of my goals was to infuse as much of myself into my business as possible. I believe that when you hire a photographer, you don't just hire them for their skills behind the camera and computer, but for who they are. Your personalities have to mesh to have the best experience possible, so that you get the best photos possible.
UNM Duck Pond family photo Session- The Morrison Family
The lovely Morrison Family joined me at UNM about a week and a half ago for a family photo shoot. This family was awesome to work with! Despite the fact that it was freezing outside, they stuck it out with smiles on their faces.
UNM Alumni Chapel Wedding- Michael and Anjelica
I had the pleasure of serving as both a bridesmaid and photographer at Anjelica and Michael Shumway's recent wedding. In full disclosure, I have known Anjelica since she was a little girl. That being said, it was a blessing to not only be part of this sweet couple's wedding, but to capture it for them as well.
